Enjoying the Lot river
There are many ways to enjoy the Lot river. It's very popular to rent canoes and see the surroundings from the water. For those who like to fish, you will find the rivier full of catfish and carp. For a swim (but not in the pool) there is a small sandy beach nearby.
It's a five minute drive to the beautiful medieval village of Puy l'Evêque. During summer season you can take a boat tour on the so called 'bateaux gabares' (flat bottom boats). The village also offers three boulangeries, a lot of lovely small restaurants and bars.
As La Croze is situated alongside the river, the sound of rushing water from the nearby waterfall comes to meet you. Two of the gites have their terrace directly on the river. The third gite overlooks the pool and river. It's a perfect spot to take an afternoon nap or to enjoy the view.
Yoga and Pilates
Barbara, the host at La Croze is an experienced Yoga and Pilates teacher. After teaching all around the world, she now has her own dedicated space for guests. From beginners to advanced practitioners, she welcomes everyone and can accommodate private, semi-private and small group classes.
Domaine La Croze is also suitable for Yoga/Pilates retreats.
Tennis
La Croze has its own tennis court which you can use freely. We have rackets and tennis balls at your disposal.
Walking, cycling and running
The surroundings are great for outdoor activities like a bike ride, walks and going for a run. Literally in our backyard, along the Lot river you can find a 160 km route called the Voies Vertes (green roads). They are clearly marked cycle and hiking routes. Bikes can be rented in Prayssac. Another option is to visit the famous Cahors vineyards. La Croze has many of them within a short driving, or even walking distance.
(Flea) markets
The Lot is well known for its many weekly markets in nearby villages and towns. In the summer the so called 'Vide Greniers/Brocante' are added to the mix. They are wonderful places to buy typical French items for good prices. There is always a bargain to find and lovely memories to take home.
Marchés gourmande (night food markets)
During summer season many towns and village organize Marchés Gourmandes (or Nocturnes) . These markets are mostly during the evening where you will sit at long tables amongst locals and other tourists to enjoy the delicacies and wines from the region. Make sure to bring your own plates, glasses and cutlery!

There are multiple golf courses in the area. The closest is La Bouysset (9 holes).
A bit further drive you will find:

Immerse in French culture
In the Lot and the nearby Dordogne departments there are many castles and prehistoric caves that are all worth a visit. Nearby Chateau de Bonaguil in Fumel is not to be missed!
